    Description

Presented is a fine American coin silver tablespoon or serving spoon made by Joseph Shoemaker of Philadelphia. Shoemaker was born in 1764 and died in 1829. The spoon has a rounded handle with a monogram of TAE on the top. This piece was probably made around 1790. Certainly over 200 years old.
The spoon is stamped on the reverse with J. Shoemaker for the maker. Guaranteed to be coin silver, 900 purity silver.
The condition is excellent. The spoon has some surface wear commensurate with age and light use, but this is minor. There are no dents, no splits, no breaks, and no repairs.
The spoon is 7 3/8 inches long.
The weight is 36.6 grams or 1.3 ounces.
