Presented to Ira C. Doe by the Officers of the Saco Guards for excelling in Target Shooting Aug 20th 1851.
Condition

Great Condition - a minor tiny ding on the top of handle (only pointed out for accuracy).
Ira C. Doe born in Parsonsfield, June 6, 1814. He was a Democrat in politics, was a member of the State Senate in 1849-1850. Known as Capt. Doe having been some 25 years ago captain of the Saco Guards. (there is more information on the internet about Ira C Doe)
