Large Vintage Japanese Lacquer Jewelry Treasure Box w/Inlayed Coins Kanai

Description

This large wooden vintage box is a nice piece of Japanese culture. The box is exquisitely hand painted on all sides on a brown lacquer base. The lid is inlaid with 6 Japanese coins, one says KANAI and the others have Japanese lettering. The front of the box has a keyhole and two metal handles on the large pull out drawer. The four legs are scalloped. The edge of the top lid is beautifully beveled. The box measures 12 inches wide by 8 inches tall and 8 1/2 inches deep. It is in excellent condition.
