A CLASSIC PIECE OF SOUTH CAROLINA SILVER

For sale is a heavy and handsome Southern sterling silver cup with handle retailed
by James Allan & Co., Charleston, South Carolina.  The maker is Dominick & Haff
and is dated 1894.  All marks are clearly shown in the photos above.  It is 3" tall by
4-1/2" wide; the top opening is 3".  The cup weighs a hefty 214 grams.
A really handsome cup in great used condition.  A nice patina, a ding here and there,
but overall in beautiful shape.  There are two monograms: (JBM) and (JAM).  My
best guess is this cup may have been passed on to the next generation in the family.
Note, the volume capacity is marked on the bottom (1/2 PTS).
